Kleed was born with sustainability at its heart. From the very beginning, our goal has always been to be 100% sustainable, respecting the environment and the communities we work with. Having worked in Africa and India, founder Carolina Guedes Cruz has witnessed firsthand the devastation taking place with animal welfare. Which is why she decided to launch KLEED as a conscious luxury fashion brand. All our actions, however small, impact Planet and People. We believe it’s every brand’s duty to give back and create the smallest footprint possible.

“We believe that transparency is an essential part of creating a conscious and sustainable business. However the word ‘sustainability’ has largely lost its meaning, due to overuse and greenwashing. We therefore want our customers to be part of our journey by showcasing everything that we do in our quest to always be a conscious fashion business.” Carolina Cruz, KLEED founder.

Globally, the fashion industry is one of the biggest pollutants. It’s responsible for 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually. Which is why KLEED practises Slow Fashion. Our garments are handmade by local artisans using age-old techniques, which are handed over to the next generation by gifted artisans and craftsmen. Be it weaving, dyeing or block printing, everything is created with age-old methods that promote craftsmanship and cultural heritage. Each item is uniquely made for our clients.

So as a KLEED customer, you also embrace Slow Fashion. This means when your beautiful KLEED parcel arrives, you will have the additional satisfaction of having played your part in keeping traditional luxury and handcrafted fashion alive.

We are aware that our actions are not perfect and we still have some way to go before we are 100% sustainable. But we are proud of our achievements so far because we see the impact they are having in the countries where we make our beautiful clothes. Every time our clients unwrap and wear any KLEED article, they know that the people behind the brand are constantly looking for pollution-reducing processes and growth opportunities in all the places we operate. And we want you to be part of this impact and for us to be totally transparent about our efforts.

So we invite you into KLEED’s sustainable world so you can also be part of our journey towards a greener
